About Us

We are a community of eco-conscious people who are working together to nurture a community, a garden and a lifestyle!
Food is a basic human need. For
many folks in the U.S. it is merely a commodity that is taken for
granted. Food in the U.S. travels an average of 1300 miles from farm to supermarket! Almost every state in the US buys 85% of its food from
some place else. Let's change this starting with us!

Springs Farm grows fresh produce locally by means of Community
Supported Agriculture or C.S.A. is a partnership of mutual commitments
between farm and community of supporters, which provides a direct link
between the production and consumption of food. Supporters cover a
farms yearly operating budget by purchasing a share of the season's
harvest.
C.S.A members make a commitment to support the farm
throughout the season and assume the costs, risks and bounty of growing
food along with the farmer or grower.
The Local Living Economies Movement Manifesto
Maximizing relationships, not maximizing profits
Growth of consciousness and creativity,
not brands and market-share,
Democracy and decentralized ownership, not concentrated wealth.
A living return, not the highest return.
A fair price, not the lowest price.
Sharing, not hoarding,
Simplicity, not gluttony,
Life serving, not self-serving.
Partnership, not domination.
Cooperation based, not competition based.
Win-win exchange, not win-loose exploitation.
Family farms, not factory farms.
Bio-diversity, not monocrops.
Cultural diversity, not monoculture.
Creativity, not conformity.
Slow food, not fast food.
Our bucks, not Starbucks.
Our mart, not Wal-Mart.
Valuing life over life-style.
And as the Earth Charter says,
"Being more, not having more."
